(How we work)
Clarity first. Technology last.
Leaders are being sold AI and automation tools as the silver bullet. Even if that succeeds, congratulations: you’ve sped up your existing outdated business model. That’s bottom-up thinking, and it isn’t what decides whether a business is still standing in five years. The question that matters runs top-down: when the work a business sells or relies on can be automated, what happens to its model, its margins, the shape of its team, and the competitor who could start from nothing carrying none of its legacy cost?
Once you understand the world, and your place in it.
(Our discipline)
We run three audits, not one.
01
The situational audit
What's actually happening to the business right now, stress tested against three projected economic scenarios.
02
The defensibility audit
Which competitive advantages hold as automation advances, which are eroding, and what stronger position to move toward.
03
The foundational audit
Strip the business model away entirely: what would actually be left, knowledge, relationships, data, credibility, if it started again from nothing?
All three get provoked by one exercise: picture the competitor who’d build this business from scratch today, carrying none of its legacy cost, and work out what they’d do to take its market. That’s the pressure test everything else runs against.
The three audits triangulate into a single judgement: where the business actually stands, and where it needs to move. Priorities cascade into specific projects across people, process and product, and only then does technology enter. And the diagnosis isn’t a one-off: it reruns at each real shift in the landscape, not on a schedule, on the moment the picture actually changes.
Our key transformation principles.
The operating partner model.
This isn’t advice from the side, handed over and walked away from. It’s a partnership: we work alongside you to drive the transformation, giving you the capacity to make the changes you already know you need to make, and holding you and your team to account until they stick. We stay in it:
This is the work we love to do. We have done it repeatedly for our commercial partners and our clients.

The method starts with the AI Era Strategy Workshop.
You don’t buy the method off the page. It starts with a one-day session for your leadership team that runs the diagnosis properly for the first time, gaps, competitors, assets, industry trends, and ends with a transformation roadmap specific to your business.
Learn about the Workshop(How we build)
We don’t lead with tools. But once the diagnosis is done, we build.
Three categories of tool, deployed strictly in this order, never out of sequence. We won’t accelerate your existing workflows just because AI makes that easy. We wait until the new model, the one built for where the business needs to be, is actually embedded. Only then do we accelerate it.
01
Diagnostic
Upfront, before anything changes: tools that give your leadership team real visibility. Market position, financial exposure, industry trends, the competitive threats you haven't named yet.
02
Transformational
Deployed once the roadmap is set. Tools like Aldous, our proprietary relationship and accountability agent, track adoption and progress against specific metrics, so the transformation doesn't quietly stall once we're not in the room.
03
Acceleration
The one everyone asks for first, and the one we deliberately hold until last. Once future-proofed workflows are signed off, we accelerate them: off-the-shelf where it fits, built by us where it doesn't.
How this is different from hiring a consultant: most consulting is people, on-site, billing hours, for as long as you keep paying. We call this augmented consulting instead. Tools like Aldous give your team ongoing accountability and context without needing us in the room every week, tracked against clear metrics, so the transformation actually sticks. Whichever category, the same standards apply: data handled responsibly and GDPR compliant, quality tested before it touches your business, and your team brought in emotionally and technically, not just handed a login.
Three examples · placeholder
Diagnostic first. Transformational second. Acceleration last, once there’s something worth accelerating. Inexpensive where off-the-shelf does the job, bespoke where it doesn’t. That’s the whole rule.
